Ysgol Bro Carmel is a community school. The Local Authority is responsible for all admissions. Please find a link to the relevant section on the Flintshire Council here. We currently have spaces in each of our year groups.
Children usually start school in the school year (September – August) in which they will have their 5th birthday. Parents will be required to apply for a place at our school between the beginning of September and mid November in the school year before they are due to start school (If your child is 5 between 1 September 2025 and 31 August 2026 you will need to apply for a place at our school between September and November 2025) this is done through the LEA.

Children whose parents have applied through the LEA and live in our catchment area will most likely be offered a place. The new code of admissions however means we cannot guarantee this, due to variations in parental preferences.

Children requiring a place in one of these years, and who live in the catchment area, will usually have a right to a place.

Children whose parents wish them to join our school during these years, and live in our zone will be granted a place only if there are less than 30 in these classes.
